A Squirrel's Brain is about the size of a Walnut! Is yours?

HAPPY MONDAY! the 8th of November...2010'

We say it all the time "think like a squirrel!" We are wildlife specialists and although its not worded as such in our job descriptions its actually a job qualification and we do it on a daily basis! Looking at every situation like the suspect (in this scenario it's squirrels) helps us be better equipped to ensure we catch em' and keep em' out!

From day 1 of our inspection we want to hear and find all the facts all the evidence; the noises, travel routes, damages made, droppings left, access points and even rub marks and hairs left behind by our squirrelly invaders! Once we get all the facts and findings we can then process that information and think like we too have walnut sized brains!

WHEN?
Are the noises you hear at night, early morning, late afternoon; is it summer, spring, fall or winter?
Three main types of squirrels we deal with in New England are the Grays, Reds and Flyer's all of which are active at different times of the day or night. Knowing when helps us determine our approach, understanding the animals and what time of year they are active makes us the specialists that can provide prompt, professional removal & prevention at a reasonable cost for you!

WHERE? Are the noises at your roof, in your basement, in your fireplace; Where do you live Me, Ma, NH, RI?
Some squirrels like the roof some like the basement you just never can tell, until of course we've gathered our evidence during our wildlife inspection. Taking into consideration the area on your home is just as important as your region. We have been servicing these areas for years and understand habitat as well as migration patterns, we also live in all the areas we serve...there is just no way these squirrels can hide from us!

WHAT?
Squirrels leave us evidence....chewed acorns, chewed entry, poops of all sizes, nesting made to fit them and even hair left from constant travel through tight spaces! What ever it is your squirrels want to leave we are trained to find it to help quickly evaluate what type of squirrels you may have and determine what prompt solution we can provide...    Did you know that some squirrels just chew the tops of an acorn to eat it, some poke holes around the outer shell to get its tasty insides and others will pulverize the acorn and leave remnants of its shell right there on the attic floor....yummy!!

Our squirrel removal services our targeted to be prompt, on point, humane and always professional and although we ask ourselves to think like we have walnut sized brains we are also expected to put it all together in a way to make your experience with us incredible, amazing and something to talk about! It starts with the animals but continues with people helping people protect their homes from invaders of all types and sizes..

“It is hard to be brave, when you're only a Very Small Animal."

Happy & Wild Halloween! From all of us here at Precision WIldlife!

Precision Wildlife wants to wish everyone a safe, WILD and Happy Halloween!

***Remember to watch out for the kiddies tonight, because they are certainly not looking for you.....whether it's a harmless little trick or a yummy little treat.....Enjoy your Halloween and all the fun that comes with it!

 Some Haloween fun facts!

We love orange ..Did you know - there are no words in the dictionary that rhyme with orange? Hard to believe for such an important color?

Kids worried about vampires?... well vampires think Halloween is tacky and don't bother going out that night.

People have believed for centuries that light keeps away ghosts and ghouls. Making a pumpkin lantern with a candle inside may keep you safe from all the spooky spirits flying around on Halloween.

Some Halloween Trivia??????

1. What is the scariest part of a horror movie?
2. How do you fix a jack-o-lantern?
3. What do you call the architectural plan of a haunted house?
4. What do little trees say on Halloween?5. What did Dracula say when he saw a giraffe for the first time?6. Why do dragons sleep during the day?
7. When is it bad luck to see a black cat?
8. What kind of dog does Dracula have?
9. Why do ghosts write in Latin?

Would you choose Precision Wildlife if we showed up at your house with this on our head? Maybe we'll go with a safari hat!!

Rain Rain Go Away! How to build a squirrel bath!

Clogged gutters do more than give a squirrel a BATH!

Gutters that are clogged or in need of repair can cause serious damage! Gutters and down spouts are the silent workhorses that protect our homes and businesses from rot, decay and erosion. Often when it rains we will notice the immediate need of gutter cleaning and repairs.  More often however, the damage caused to a home by the absence or blockages of gutters and downspouts is a slow and steady erosion that happens over time.
Improving the safety of your home includes the prevention of water damage.

Precision Wildlife Services offers gutter maintenance plans, ensuring you year round protection and peace-of-mind that your gutters will remain debris free and flow properly.

Precision Wildlife Services can also establish a Preventative Maintenance Program where together we determine what your cleaning needs are, whether a fall and spring visit will be sufficient or if there is a need to service your gutters more often.

Cleaning gutters and downspouts is something which everyone that owns a home or business must do as part of their regular exterior maintenance. Whether your home or business is large or small we can clean the gutters.

Precision Wildlife Services specializes in all types of wildlife removal but what sets us apart is our ability to provide long-term prevention. Long-term prevention means maintenance, proactive plans and repairs....to make it all worth it Precision Wildlife has made your honey do list easier!

What else do we do?
  • Email reminders for maintenance services
  • Seamless/wood gutter installation
  • Gutter guards
  • Roof clearing
  • Tree clearing
  • Chimney repairs/re-pointing
  • Carpentry repairs
  • Roof repairs
Need a Quick Quote? Send us a few pictures of your home...and we'll get right back to you!
Please include your Name, Town and Contact Phone Number.

Knock, Knock!
Who's there?
Gutter!
Gutter who!
Gutter get in, it's raining out here!

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Henry Ford

"The rules are simple be creative, work together, develop your product and provide an avenue that reaches our audience!"

Here at Precision Wildlife our staff has been asked to participate in something that is not part of their normal routine, something that may not be an individual expertise but will certainly test our abilities to work as a team to accomplish an objective no matter what the challenges are.

The objective
Our teams have been asked to design a custom hat as well as a custom t-shirt that they feel best represents Precision Wildlife and offers appeal to an outside audience. Some rules that do apply are to; include either our company logo, phone #, website link or any version ( even if it is subtle) of one of these items mentioned on both the hats and the t-shirts.

The Teams
The teams have been broken down into 4 teams of 3. We chose to go the old name in a hat route in order to establish these teams and we certainly have some interesting groupings. Some teams have been quickly recognized as favorites due to past experience with design while some are seen as underdogs for reasons unannounced to me. Participation from all team members is expected!

Friends of Facebook & Precision Wildlife!
We need your help! We thank you for your involvement with Precision Wildlife and do ask if your friends aren't our friends already "Invite them!" They may thank you someday.
We will present all designs for your viewing and voting on October 15th and based on your votes we will produce the 2 most popular designs of both the hats and the t-shirts.

When providing us with your vote for best designs you will be automatically entered to win one of our many prizes. Prizes will consist of but are not limited to numerous gift cards, golf accesories other items to be named at a later date.

A Charitable Donation

Precision Wildlife will donate $1 for every hat or shirt sold to a charity chosen by the group as a whole. Please feel free to share any suggestions you may have of someone or some organization that you feel is deserving.

The Final Say!
The winners will be deterimined by their production. We will offer these t-shirts and hats up for purchase just in time for the holiday season. These items will make for that perfect gift, stocking stuffer or it may just be on your "can't wait to get list"!

In fairness of the competition we will not disclose the designs and thier team players until they go to print! Hope you all our looking forward to seeing the new designs....I know we are!

Here's lookin' at you Kid! Squirrel season is upon us!

Oh but their so Cute! The Eastern Gray Squirrel has been a big attention getter for us this year...people are always intruiged by the removal of the cute little pups.

Wildlife Specialist Steve Abati
The Fall Frenzy! Squirrels of all types are producing their young and some are nurturing their juvie sized pups using rooftops as their playgrounds. Tis the season where squirrels invasions are at their most notable because squirrels begin to forage the acorn fields for some winter grub and bring it into your house..we mean their nests. Storing their food in the most suitable areas in case a tough winter keeps them at bay,  keeps us here at Precision Wildlife on the move!

This squirrel has caused a blockage!
The eastern gray squirrel does not hibernate, they also use their sense of smell to find their "secret stash" when food is scarce! They aren't that smart and sometimes forget where they buried their nuts, but this is OK because someday that nut will be a tree and trees are good! So if anyone ever asks you what they are good for you have a most logical explanation.

Put em up, put em up!
We Know What Your Thinking! Oh no what if the squirrel forgets its nuts in my attic....I don't want a tree in my attic! Precision Wildlife won't let that happen infact we'll also inspect to see if it/they; matted down your insulation down to the point it is ineffective, chewed your wires cauising a fire hazard, left feces & urine deposits about, or chewed structural pieces of you home....Oh but their so cute!

Point of entry is key and we'll find it because we have ladders and we literally think like squirrels! Understanding home maintenance such as gutter cleanings, yearly roof inspections, house clearing of tree limb and other home maintenace services will help keep your home safe againts all types of critters! We are like your personel body guards against squirrels!

Does anyone know why a squirrel swims on it's back?

The Unidentified Creature!

As I approached this creature I stated to the customer "This isn't a bat a tall!"

Did you know that if you have an animal, looking at you while at work or in your kitchen, there's a company you can call that responds immediately anywhere in New England? Sounds exciting already doesn't it? Well this is an everyday occurrence for us at Precision Wildlife and that's what makes our job so Great! Live animal removal calls, bats, raccoons, birds, snakes and yeah I guess skunks too!

Back in August we received a call from a customer in the North Shore of MA, for a possible bat inside of their building...ALIVE! They stated to us that is was in their co. warehouse and that no one could use the restroom out there because of the bats location. In August the busiest time of the year and we have no technicians in the area to send, what to do? Well I just go and I'm pretty excited about it too, because its a business...its a bat....they could have more...and I enjoy walking in plucking him out and then knowing how to fix a potentially more serious issue, as all of our experienced wildlife techs do!
As soon as I saw this thing I said "THAT'S NOT A BAT" and I wish I took a picture of that moment but I was focused on getting "it" before "it" flew. It looked like a giant bug with antennas and eyes and had a reddish gold color to it. Now we all know that the bats we deal with are; they are brownish color with black wings you know big browns and littles, don't we? After I secured it in my hand I quickly realized it was definitely a bat and it was one I had never seen before. I walked it out to the truck pretty quickly and put The Bat into a secured container and then went to handle the fun stuff..

The actual removal took above 2 minutes and the other 58 minutes was used up for inspection of the building, paperwork, discussing the type of bat and explanation that there building could not be bat proofed as the costs would soar far to high with all the big bay type doors and unfinished window sections on the warehouse. This all being said I did a thorough inspection and then took some photos of the bat which I believe to be called a "Red Bat" although this could be proven otherwise! In fact if it is there's a hat in it for that person.

After the excitement of removing a non-brown live bat from a building had settled and when I was done photographing our bat friend we did let it fly away. Bats are protected and Precision Wildlife is a humane co. but we always determine if contact was made by anyone before releasing the bats into the wild. If you have a bat looking and its in you living room,  basement or even at your place of employment...  ask a our bat specialists if it is OK for you to let it fly away or ask us to get it out for you, if you think you can't!
