What do skunks look like?

The question should be, "What do they smell like?" and I'm sure that most already know. But if you have not had that experience you should feel blessed that you haven't. A defense mechanism for a skunk, its odor, is just as distinctive as it black and white appearance. Skunks are similar in size to the common house cat normally weighing 6 to 10 pounds. They have pointed snouts and small, triangular heads with a white stripe on their nose and forehead. Normally their coat is black with a white stripe running down the middle of their back and splits into two stripes down a skunks tail. On occasion skunks can be predominately white called albino skunks. A skunks tail is wide and bushy and can be completely black or vary in the amount of white stripes that run down the tail. Skunks have short legs which causes their noticeable waddle and categorizes them as poor climbers. Although skunks have short legs they have rather strong forefeet and long nails making them excellent diggers.

Precision Wildlife’s newest family members

Precision received a call in January for a possible feral cat trapped at a local grocery store on the south shore.

We took the call as we normally would, went to the property same day for an animal removal. After getting the cat back to our office, it seemed that the cat was not feral at all, only seemed to have been on it’s own for quite sometime!

We took it to the local vet to be sure it wasn’t someone’s pet, have it updated on shots and have a check-up to be sure she was ok. Well no home again chip was found…but the news of kittens around the first week of March.

Raddison Hotel in Nashua, New Hampshire

Thanks to Casey's awesome filming techniques, we have a great story with footage.  Hope you enjoy!
Precision Wildlife Services was called out to the Raddison Hotel in Nashua, NH to take care of a Grey Squirrel problem they were having. We identified the problem area and set some traps along the roof line. When I returned the next day, I was a little surprised when I found a beautiful Red Tail Hawk, on the ground, with one of our traps at its side with a squirrel in it.

I was able to get within 8 feet of this unbelievable creature.

I spent 3-4 minutes with it. I was able to get some other videos and some great still photes. At the end, I had to shoo him away so I could get the squirrel.

Pretty cool stuff! I hope you enjoy, Thanks Casey!

Shirley, Massachusetts Bat Eviction

While working on a house with a bat problem. We located an active area at a dormer. While preparing to work on this area, a bat started squawking at us.

Fortunately I was able to get the camera out just in time!
